BossGamerz is a gaming website at https://bossgamerz.com. We publish Roblox game guides and reviews of budget gaming gear. This page explains what we collect when you visit, what we do with it, and how to get it removed.
Questions about anything here: contact@bossgamerz.com
1. What we collect
Things you give us. If you fill in the contact form or leave a comment, we get whatever you typed. Usually that is a name, an email address, and a message.
Things collected automatically. Like most websites, we log some technical information when you visit:
- Your IP address
- Browser and version
- Operating system and device type
- The page that sent you here
- Which pages you opened and how long you stayed
This comes from cookies, standard server logs, and Google Analytics.
2. Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use four kinds:
| Type | What it does |
|---|---|
| Essential | Makes the site work. Cannot be turned off. |
| Analytics | Tells us which pages people actually read |
| Advertising | Lets Google AdSense choose which ads to show |
| Preference | Remembers settings so you do not reset them every visit |
Your browser settings let you block or delete any of these. Some parts of the site may behave oddly if you block the essential ones.
3. What we do with it
- Keep the website running
- Reply when you message us
- See which guides people find useful and which ones are not worth keeping
- Show advertising
- Catch spam and abuse
- Meet legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
4. Google AdSense
We show ads through Google AdSense. Google sets its own cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, and uses them to pick ads based on your browsing across many sites, not just this one.
If you would rather not see personalised ads:
- Turn them off at Google Ads Settings
- Opt out of multiple ad vendors at aboutads.info
- Read how Google handles this data at policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Blocking personalised ads does not remove ads. It just makes them less relevant.
5. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see visitor numbers, popular pages, time on page, and rough location at country or city level. It does not tell us who you are.
Google stores this data on servers in the United States. You can opt out entirely with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
6. Affiliate links
Some links in our gear reviews and buying guides are affiliate links, mostly Amazon Associates.
If you buy something after clicking one, we may earn a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same. We do not get paid more for recommending a more expensive product, and affiliate relationships do not decide what we recommend or what score something gets.
This disclosure follows FTC guidelines.
7. Third party services
These services can collect data on their own terms:
| Service | Why it is here | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdSense | Advertising | Policy |
| Google Analytics | Visitor statistics | Policy |
| Gravatar | Comment profile pictures | Policy |
| YouTube | Embedded videos | Policy |
| Hostinger | Web hosting | Policy |
8. Links to other sites
We link out to Roblox, YouTube, Amazon, game developer sites and others. Once you click through, you are on their website under their rules. We have no control over what they collect.
9. Comments
Leaving a comment means we store your name, email, comment text, IP address and browser string. The IP and browser string are only there for spam filtering.
Approved comments are public. An anonymised hash of your email may go to Gravatar so your profile picture shows up, but only if you use Gravatar.
Want a comment deleted? Email us and it is gone.
10. Children
A lot of Roblox players are young, so this matters more here than on most sites.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13
- If you are a parent and think your child has sent us something, email contact@bossgamerz.com and we will delete it
- We follow the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
11. How long we keep things
- Comments: until you ask us to remove them
- Contact form messages: up to 12 months
- Analytics: according to Google’s standard retention settings
12. Security
We take reasonable technical steps to protect what we hold. We are also going to be straight with you: no website can promise perfect security, and anyone who does is overselling. Do not send us anything sensitive through a comment box.
13. Your rights
If you are in the EU or UK (GDPR): you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to limit how we use it, ask for it in a portable format, or object to us processing it at all.
If you are in California (CCPA): you can ask what we collect, ask whether it is sold or shared and to whom, opt out of any sale, request access, and you will not get worse service for asking.
Email contact@bossgamerz.com for any of these. We reply within 30 days.
14. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. There is still no agreed standard for what a site should do with it, and we do not currently respond to it. The browser controls and Google opt out tools above do work.
15. Changes
When we update this page we change the “last updated” date at the top. For anything significant we will put a notice on the site. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
